Near Zero Energy Building (NZEB) Courses
These courses train learners to develop buildings that have a very high energy performance. NZEB courses provide learners with a much sought-after skill set, now that all buildings across Ireland are now required to be built to the NZEB standard.
NZEB Centres of Excellence have been set up in three locations across the country to provide training in all areas of NZEB and Retrofit, including starter programmes, conversion courses, upskilling and post-apprenticeship courses.
NZEB training is currently available in Laois and Offaly ETB, Waterford Wexford ETB and Limerick Clare ETB.
Centres are due to open in Cork ETB, Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim ETB and City of Dublin ETB in the near future.

Subsidised Up-skilling and Re-skilling
Flexible and subsidised upskilling and reskilling opportunities are available through the Skills to Advance initiative to develop awareness in sustainability issues and extend career opportunities in the green economy for employees, employers and the unemployed.
Contact your local Education and Training Board or ETB to find subsidised Green Skills courses under the Skills to Advance initiative near you.
