iVET - FET Transition Year Programme
The Initial Vocational Education and Training or iVET module is an optional Transition Year module developed collaboratively by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA), Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI), and SOLAS (Further Education and Training Authority) to strengthen links between schools and Further Education and Training (FET).

The iVET module is available nationwide and aims to increase the number of valuable FET and apprenticeship taster courses happening in TY Programmes across Ireland, giving the opportunity for more students to benefit from the FET taster experience and broaden their horizons.

iVET provides students with an invaluable opportunity for career exploration, allowing them to discover their interests and aptitudes in various vocational fields that can help them make informed decisions on the pathways they may wish to follow through and beyond senior cycle.
It helps students to:
